Give Voice to Nature: Let your Message Fly!

Updated: Jun 30

We’re inviting you to get creative and give nature a voice as part of our demands to Restore Nature Now.

On Saturday 22nd June the biggest ever public gathering for nature and climate in the UK took place. 200+ environment groups and thousands of people came together to send an unmissable message to UK politicians to transform our nature-depleted isles.

Our action continues: We’ve made origami paper birds to be your messenger to send a Letter from the Earth to the next British Prime Minister. What does nature have to say to the new government?

Follow the below instructions at home and in your communities to make your messenger birds wherever you are and display them for others to see. After the General Election post your bird to the new Prime Minister at 10 Downing Street, London, SW1A 2AA.

Share pictures and videos of your creative activty on Instagram tagging @letterstotheearth_ and @RestoreNatureNow with the hashtags #RestoreNatureNow and #LettersToTheEarth

  • Download our paper bird here.

  • Use recycled paper if you can.

  • Make sure you print in colour and double-sided on one A4.

  • Follow the lines to cut the A4 into a square.

  • Take a moment to connect with the wider web of life, and allow another species, natural element or ecosystem to come to mind. It might be somewhere familiar that means a lot to you, or something that you care about. What message do they have for the human world? Take on their voice and write your message.

  • Follow the instructions on the paper to fold the paper into a bird: folding each numbered line in turn. Always fold the paper toward the number, so that each fold hides the numbered line as you go.
